Obama: Quit Listening to Rush Limbaugh if You Want to Get Things Done

Obama warned Republicans to quit listening to Limbaugh if they want to get along with Democrats, during a White House discussion on his nearly $1 trillion stimulus package.

To me, the president sounds more like a dictator then a President and especially if you remember all the words he used about gathering intelligent people to having intelligent answers to complex problems.

This sounds like another President that we had. He also demanded respect with no respect given infact, this president was about disrespect of those that protected you,me and him.

Irritated Obama ‘Stares Down’ Reporter During Press Corps Visit

When a reporter tried to quiz President Obama on Thursday about a lobbyist chosen for a top Defense Department job, the president quickly became agitated.

WASHINGTON — President Obama paid a surprise visit to members of the White House press corps Thursday evening when he walked through their working area of the West Wing, but he quickly became agitated when he was confronted with a question by one of the journalists. 

According to reports, when the Politico’s Jonathan Martin asked the president about his nominee for deputy secretary of defense, William Lynn, Obama refused to answer, saying he was not there to take questions.

“I came down here to visit. I didn’t come down here — this is what happens. I can’t end up visiting you guys and shaking hands if I am going to grilled every time I come down here,” the president said. 

Pressed further by the Politico reporter about his Pentagon nominee, Obama turned more serious, putting his hand on the reporter’s shoulder and staring him in the eye.

“All right, come on,” he said, with obvious irritation in his voice. “We will be having a press conference, at which time you can feel free to [ask] questions. Right now, I just wanted to say hello and introduce myself to you guys — that’s all I was trying to do,” Politico.com reported.

Does this sound like the guy you voted in? Is this transperancy? Is this the guy that said he was going to be able to talk to anyone? This is a guy that seems to have a mighty ego that needs fed. Sounds like he though the duties of the President was to play hoops and hav a beer afterwards. If you listen to the start of the Hannity radio show and you’ll hear the evidence of that.

Bill Of Rights?

This is probably the best e-mail I’ve seen in a long, long time. The following has been attributed to State Representative Mitchell Kaye from GA. This guy should run for President one day…

‘We the sensible people of the United States, in an attempt to help everyone get along, restore some semblance of justice, avoid more riots, keep our nation safe, promote positive behavior, and secure the blessings of debt-free liberty to ourselves and our great-great-great-grandchildren, hereby try one more time to ordain and establish some common sense guidelines for the terminally whiny, guilt ridden, delusional. We hold these truths to be self evident: that a whole lot of people are confused by the Bill of Rights and are so dim they require a Bill of NON-Rights.’

ARTICLE I: You do not have the right to a new car, big screen TV, or any other form of wealth. More power to you if you can legally acquire them, but no one is guaranteeing anything.

ARTICLE II: You do not have the right to never be offended. This country is based on freedom, and that means freedom for everyone — not just you! You may leave the room, turn the channel, express a different opinion, etc.; but the world is full of idiots, and probably always will be.

ARTICLE III: You do not have the right to be free from harm. If you stick a screwdriver in your eye, learn to be more careful; do not expect the tool manufacturer to make you and all your relatives independently wealthy.

ARTICLE IV: You do not have the right to free food and housing. Americans are the most charitable people to be found, and will gladly help anyone in need, but we are quickly growing weary of subsidizing generation after generation of professional couch potatoes who achieve nothing more than the creation of another generation of professional couch potatoes. (This one is my pet peeve…get an education and go to work….don’t expect everyone else to take care of you!)

ARTICLE V: You do not have the right to free health care. That would be nice, but from the looks of public housing, we’re just not interested in public health care.

ARTICLE VI: You do not have the right to physically harm other people. If you kidnap, rape, intentionally maim, or kill someone, don’t be surprised if the rest of us want to see you fry in the electric chair.

ARTICLE VII: You do not have the right to the possessions of others. If you rob, cheat, or coerce away the goods or services of other citizens, don’t be surprised if the rest of us get together and lock you away in a place where you still won’t have the right to a big screen color TV or a life of leisure.

ARTICLE VIII: You do not have the right to a job. All of us sure want you to have a job, and will gladly help you along in hard times, but we expect you to take advantage of the opportunities of education and vocational training laid before you to make yourself useful. (AMEN!)

ARTICLE IX: You do not have the right to happiness. Being an American means that you have the right to PURSUE happiness, which by the way, is a lot easier if you are unencumbered by an over abundance of idiotic laws created by those of you who were confused by the Bill of Rights.

ARTICLE X: This is an English speaking country. We don’t care where you are from, English is our language. Learn it or go back to wherever you came from! (Lastly….)

ARTICLE XI: You do not have the right to change our country’s history or heritage. This country was founded on the belief in one true God. And yet, you are given the freedom to believe in any religion, any faith, or no faith at all; with no fear of persecution.The phrase IN GOD WE TRUST is part of our heritage and history, and if you are uncomfortable with it, TOUGH!

If you agree, share this with a friend. No, you don’t have to, and nothing tragic will befall you if you don’t. I just think it’s about time common sense is allowed to flourish. Sensible people of the United States speak out because if you do not, who will?

Leilani also sat the record at Texas Motor Speedway for the highest finish for a female driver at the 1.5 mile speedway. About the Carbon Offset

Leilani will continue with her commitment she started in 2007 to offset her carbon footprint by adopting an acre of rainforest for every race she enters. As she did for all her Indy Pro Series events (both races and tests), Leilani will be offsetting her race car’s emissions with World Land Trust.

“I felt a responsibility to do something about the impact I have on the environment because of my racing career,” said Leilani, “I am speaking out about my actions in hopes of bringing awareness to race fans and the racing community. Carbon offsetting is not the solution to climate change, but I had to do something about my unavoidable emissions.”

Leilani holds a degree in biology for the University of California San Diego and is well known for her support of environmental causes. She has made three trips to Capitol Hill this year to speak to members of Congress on behalf of climate change legislation and is an Ambassador for the National Wildlife Federation.

Leilani is a long time vegetarian, an animal friendly and environmentally sound diet. An area of rain forest the size of seven football fields is destroyed every minute to make room for grazing cattle and an average meat-eater requires about 20 times as much land as a vegetarian to fulfill their yearly calorie requirements. The United Nations determined that raising animals for food generates almost 50 percent more greenhouse-gas emissions than all the cars, SUVs, trucks, and airplanes in the world combined. In addition, a report from the University of Chicago determined that switching to a vegan diet is 40 percent more effective in countering global warming than switching from a standard American car to a Toyota Prius.

Where does the money go?

The following is not made of my hand (I didn’t write it) it was a blog entry on American Solutions Blog by vbillt@cox.net

I am setting here absolutely flabbergasted as I watch our economic collapse and begin to question what kind of cretins are in Congress looking for a solution. It is like watching the Keystone Cops! A committee of people with a collective IQ of 3 points above plant life could render a better performance.

First a crisis is identified and Paulson shows up with a one page memo telling you folks that if you don’t pony up $700B we will be in a depression. The Democrat controlled Congress crafts a half-hearted piece of legislation that is promptly defeated. Enter the Senate to the rescue adding many pages and smears the document $150B in pork – bribery to get votes. This hastily approved bill is sent to the House where with little fanfare or any forethought is promptly approved and sent to the President for signature. I doubt that 25% of you read it or even cared because it is only taxpayer money. All you folks wanted to do was get home and campaign so you could drink at the public trough for another 2 to 6 years. From what I see now there was no clear plan, no measureable objective, and no mechanism for oversight. It is only after we shove billions of dollars into the morass do we discover OUR MONEY was being spent on lavish corporate outings, bonuses, buying other companies and other activities that were never part of the BAILOUT. Only now is there any expression of concern – too late!

What is being done to right the ship? I see no outcry or any effort to identify and prosecute the greedy crooks that gambled with our future. What is being done about the Wall Street CEOs and others that laid the trap? What is being done about the crooked leadership at Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac? What about the complicity of members of Congress?
This problem happened on Bush’s watch but despite all the Democrat claims of his fault there are many fingerprints on this problem dating back to the Carter Administration and the Community Redevelopment Act. Congress and others adopted a social engineering posture to pressure financial institutions to make mortgage loans to low income people. If I remember right the lenders were asked to consider welfare and unemployment as qualifiers. The house of cards has fallen under the weight of sub-prime loans made to people who never should have received them. The Democrats have won the election by blaming everything on George W. Bush but now is the time to stop that nonsense.

We said we were going to bailout the financial segment of the economy first, but how? The “plan” keeps changing. We bailout AIG and they are back for more – squandering what they got. Now everyone else who feels the pinch is standing in line for a handout save the poor taxpayers who get the burden.

Here are the fools from the Big Three Auto makers traveling to DC on their corporate jets with tin cups in hand asking for another $25B without a plan. The problems of this industry are several – years of poor quality products and dealer support, kneeling at the feet of the UAW making their costs higher, poor choice of products, mismanagement, and yes government interference because they know better. From my personal experience it was the quality that was the key issue that made me abandon US automakers – my last two, GM and Chrysler, ate me alive in maintenance and poor service.

As one of the taxpayers I say no loan without a plan! First and foremost, all of the Boards of Directors of the auto companies and the UAW should submit their resignations. There should be further resignations of executives at all companies and those that remain should work for $1 a year until in the black. There should be major reorganizations that would eliminate a couple of levels of management. There should be a change in culture from one of entitlement to one of austerity – no private jets, no executive dining rooms, etc. The UAW should be brought to the table to renegotiate the contracts. Contracts that have 5000 pages of work rules and pay people not to work are inconceivable. Only the US government could screw it up worse. Any Union Executive who will not bargain in good faith should be removed. The same $1 a year salary should apply to union executives too. Failure to negotiate or act quickly and responsibly in any major area should result in an immediate mandatory Chapter 11 Bankruptcy.

While we are in such dire straights, I expect members of Congress to recognize the situation requires restraint on their part. Set an example! You too should execute a change in culture from one of entitlement to one of austerity. Act as if you care about the people who elected you and I don’t mean by rhetoric!
